Park & Ride is a scheme whereby the visitor or commuter to Winchester can park their car in a secure car park on the edge of town, and hop on a bus to reach most anywhere within
the City Centre. There are currently TWO car parks, with spaces for 780 cars, situated in Bar End Road (M3 Junction 10) from which the service operates.
TIMETABLE
Buses operate Monday to Friday 07.15 - 18.30, and Saturdays 07.30 - 18.00. During peak periods the low floor buses run every 8 minutes, and every 15 minutes off peak. On Saturdays they
run every 10 minutes. No Park and Ride service operates on a Sunday, or Bank Holidays. CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE FULL TIMETABLE
COST
The current cost per day is £2.00
This includes FREE transport into, around, and out of the City on the frequent bus service. The parks are patrolled and are also monitored
by CCTV. Modern bus shelters are provided that have displays indicating when the next bus is due. The St. Catherine’s site includes toilets, visitor information and help points, and a ‘Bikeabout’ point where
members may borrow a bike. =+=+=+= The ticket machines are Pay and Display, but they also accept Smart Cards that offer discounted rates for regular users. These are available from the Parking Office.
=+=+=+= A nice feature of the scheme is the facility for anyone to hop on one of the buses, and for a flat fee of (currently) 20p, ride around the City and dismount at the stop of their choice.
Buses stop at all Green Bus Stops around the City.
