WOLVESEY SLIPS (THE WEIRS)

Wolvesey Slips, more commonly known as `The Weirs´ or `Riverside Walk´ runs alongside the River Itchen behind the walls of  St John´s Alms Houses and  Wolvesey Palace, where it turns to meet College Street. Here is a large Warehouse, now converted into flats, that marks the end of the Itchen Navigation.
Part of the Itchen Navigation remains in use by Winchester College, for boating and sculling.
